The Amazon Rainforest is the Metaphor for Planet Earth  — it is both Beautiful and in Pain

Amazon Rainforest Jaguar, the beauty of nature and Earth Ethics

The Amazon Rainforest is the metaphor for planet Earth  — it is both beautiful and in pain.

The Amazon Rainforest is the largest and most biodiverse rainforest in the world, covering more than 2 million square mile of land, inhabited by more than 40,000 plant species,1,300 bird species, 3,000 fish species and approximately 430 species of Mammals.

But to quote Walter Kelly the creator of Pogo: “WE HAVE MET THE ENEMY…AND HE IS US”.

Earth Ethics: Health and Wellness for the Amazon Rainforest and Planet Earth

The exponential exploitation of natural resources — and greed—have put the Amazon Rainforest in great danger from Wildfires, Deforestation and Illegal Mining to name just a few.

The Amazon Rainforest is the metaphor for planet Earth, However, protecting the Amazon Rainforest is not purely a political, financial or business issue.  It is a spiritual and humanitarian issue.  How we treat Mother Earth reflects where we humans as the dominant species on this planet are in our evolution of consciousness.

Politics, Finance and Business alone will not lead to raising spiritual and humanitarian consciousness. Technocratic compliance is “all stick and no carrot”. So, in order to raise a global consciousness of Health and Wellness, based on Earth Ethics, there needs to be “more carrot”. Celebrations, Music, Festivals and Art, that support Earth Ethics and Health and Wellness, will build cultures and communities that leaders in Politics, Finance and Business will follow.

“If you want to change politics…change the culture. Politics are downstream from culture.”

-Marcus Nobel

So, in Earth Ethics, there is a higher calling which unites us and does not divide us. Health and Wellness, of ourselves, our family, friends and communities —and ultimately Planet Earth— starts with raising our collective spiritual and humanitarian consciousness.

We have been bequeathed only one Earth and it is our sacred duty to protect this incredible God given gift.

Earth Ethics are Health and Wellness for the Amazon Rainforest and Planet Earth.
