As someone who works hard at my New Mexico small business, I am frankly growing weary of Congressman Steve Pearce’s attacks on our state’s clean water and wild places under the false assertion that protecting New Mexico’s vital resources costs jobs.
In the past few months alone, Pearce has waged an unprecedented assault on the basic principles of conservation and wise land stewardship. This includes working to slash the Land and Water Conservation Fund, seeking to hobble the government’s ability to designate national monuments, and headlining rallies and spreading inaccuracies across southern New Mexico about plans to protect the Gila Wilderness near Silver City and the Dunes Sagebrush Lizard in southeastern New Mexico.
