Peace is Not a Science. Peace is an Art.
International Day of Peace Celebration at The Nobel Peace Park Community Festival in Eugene Oregon

PEACE! – Back by Popular demand with Marcus Nobel, President of United Earth, Jigme Rinpoche, Founder & Director of Palmo Center for Peace and Education and Kaarin Knudson, Mayor-Elect of the City of Eugene at the International Day of Peace Celebration at The Nobel Peace Park Community Festival in Eugene Oregon Saturday, September 21 2024.
When Alfred Nobel created the Nobel Peace Prize –the most famous and controversial prize in the world– he did so because he knew that Science and Technology by itself would not bring peace. He understood that Peace was primarily humanitarian and spiritual in nature.
The Nobel Peace Park Community Festival is significant because it builds peace organically through individuals, friends, family and community by agreeing to a common and simple belief: That “We the People” agree to live in Peace and Harmony with each other and Mother Earth.

The Art of Peace
The Nobel Peace Park Community Festival is a great example of the “Art of Peace” in action. A “Festive Day of Free Family Fun” including activities for children, entertainment, food music, education and peace education while honoring the great contributions of the Nobel Peace Laureates. The Art of Peace is fun and builds safe and healthy communities.
Ambassador Daniel Patrick Moynihan stated that if you want to change politics…change the culture: that Politics are downstream from culture. If “We the People” build cultures of Peace …then the politicians will have no choice but to follow the will of the majority. The overwhelming majority of the peoples of the Earth want — and demand — Peace here and now. Peace is an art. Peace is the most important of all the humanities.
A special thank you to sponsors Nobel Peace Laureate Project, Palmo Center for Peace Education, Center for Dialogue &Resolution
