Alfred Nobel, Claes Nobel & Marcus Nobel in Hong Kong
I had the opportunity to visit Saint Catherine School for Girls in Hong Kong in May 2018 with the NATIONAL SOCIETY OF HIGH SCHOOL SCHOLARS (NSHSS).
Hong Kong is one of the most amazing city that I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Flying into the Hong Kong airport and seeing the full city from the air was incredible.
It looked like a post card when viewed in one glimpse.
I was there in 2018 when the British established city was being “delivered” to China in a “mostly peaceful” transition. One of the cultural artifacts left by the British was the Catholic School system!
As my father and I were being escorted through the campus by, wonderfully cheerful nuns, we walked through the science building and through the corner of my eye I spotted a very familiar character—Alfred Nobel!
The poster in the science lab —written in Manadarin— was of Alfred Nobel who was there with other world famous scientists. Alfred Nobel, explained the nun, received a world class education in Chemistry and went on to develop Dynamite and the poster was there because of science and NOT the Nobel Peace Prize!
