The biggest lineup of music talent ever in one show
How many music legends can you gather under one roof? The folks at Madison Square Garden will find out this evening as a who’s who of rock and pop — from Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones to Kanye West and Chris Martin — come together for the “12-12-12″ relief concert to help the victims of Superstorm Sandy. Arguably the biggest lineup of music talent ever in one show, many of the artists lending their talents have direct ties to the region devastated by the late October storm that killed more than 125 people, left parts of New York City underwater and millions of others without heat or electricity for weeks — including New Jersey natives Bruce Springsteen and Bon Jovi, Long Islander Billy Joel and New Yorker Alicia Keys.[Snip]
Concert producer John Sykes told Reuters that $32 million has already been collected from ticket sales and sponsorships, with organizers hoping to raise tens of millions more.
